LASER HAIR REMOVAL FAQS
  • What kind of laser do you use?

ROHRER AESTHETICS: EPILAZE.

The EpiLaze is the ultimate solution for laser hair removal. The EpiLaze contains the 3 "Gold Standard" laser wavelengths: Alexandrite (755nm), Diode (810nm), and Yag (1064nm) that can permanently reduce and remove unwanted body hair and facial hair on all types of skin.

  • Is laser hair removal safe?

The EpiLaze Laser is FDA Cleared for permanent hair reduction on all skin types, including light, fair skin, olive skin and dark skin. The EpiLaze can remove/reduce dark coarse hair and dark fine hair. Blonde, white, and gray hair cannot be treated.

  • How do I prepare for the treatment?

Shave the areas to be treated the night before or morning of your appointment. If you have sensitive skin, shaving the night before may be more beneficial. Avoid direct, excessive sun exposure, tanning beds, and self tanners for at least two weeks prior to treatment. Please contact us regarding any questions or concerns regarding medications and/or skin care products that may need to be discontinued prior to your treatment.

  • What can I expect during a treatment?

The EpiLaze features built-in contact cooling that cools the treatment area before, during and after the treatment. Therefore, most patients experience little to no discomfort during the treatment. However, depending upon the thickness of the hair, some patients may feel a warm sting (similar to a rubber band against their skin) as the laser energy penetrates into the hair follicle.

  • How many treatment sessions are needed?

The laser light only affects actively growing hair follicles. Since hair grows in different phases over time, multiple treatments are required for desired results. Treatment results vary per individual.

Each treatment course typically ranges from 6-8 sessions, but may vary by individual, as well as by type and density of hair. Most individuals notice a significant reduction in hair growth after just a few sessions.

  • Recovery

Depending on the area treated, some swelling or irritation may occur. However, most treatments have little to no downtime and few side effects. Please read our Pre & Post Treatment Instructions at the bottom of this section.

PRE & POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

LASH LIFT & TINT
  • What is a Lash Lift & Tint?

Lash Lifts are considered the low maintenance alternative to lash extensions.

Simply put, a lash lift is a perm for your eyelashes, that provides lift and curl for weeks. Tinting is used to mimic the look of mascara without the effort.

Lash Lifts last approximately 6-8 weeks and can be safely rescheduled within 6 weeks.

  • Preparation & Process

There is little to no preparation needed for Lash Lift & Tints. Simply come to your appointment with your face clean of any makeup. If you regularly use waterproof mascara, please refrain from using for at least 3 days prior to your appointment.

The process is simple. An appropriately sized silicone shield will be placed on your eyelids with a gentle adhesive bordering the lash line. Natural lashes are then combed and curled up onto the shield and held in place with an adhesive. Lifting lotion is applied to the lashes, which will mold the lashes to the shape of the shield. Next, a setting lotion will be applied, which will set the lashes into shape. Lastly, a moisturizing lotion is added to nourish the lashes.

  • Results & Aftercare

Results will vary by person. Each individual has different lash lengths and growth direction.

The first 24 hours after your lash lift are the most important! Although the upkeep is minimal, please follow aftercare directions.

Keep lashes dry

No water, sweat, steam or sauna for the first 24 hours

Avoid excessive eye rubbing

Comb with a spoolie daily to keep them separated and fluffy

Oil free cleansers are recommended

Water based masacaras are recommended

Nourish lashes 2-3 times per week to keep them hydrated

MICROCURRENT
  • What is Microcurrent?

True Microcurrent™ is low level electrical impulses that mimic the body's own natural signal to communicate to the muscles and skin cells. It is gentle enough to be a very relaxing treatment.

True Microcurrent when delivered consistently, boosts ATP production which is the life energy used in cellular functions. It helps build collagen and elastin structure resulting in toning and firming of the skin. True Microcurrent also helps to tighten the facial muscles without making them twitch.

True microcurrent also helps the skin to absorb products and nutrients, bringing a refreshed hydrated appearance of the skin.

When a microcurrent facial device is slowly moved over your entire face and neck, it sends low-level electrical pulses through your skin and deep down into your muscles and connective tissues in a way that’s very similar to using weights at the gym. Once they’ve been stimulated, your muscles and connective tissues build up over time becoming more sculpted than before, leaving your skin looking tighter and smoother. Similar to a workout for your face, it sculpts, tightens, and smooths the other muscles throughout your body.

Benefits:

  • Increases circulation
  • Tightened and toned skin
  • Boosted natural collagen and elastin production
  • Lifted and sculpted appearance
  • Diminished dullness, fine lines, and wrinkles
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Supple, radiant and rejuvenated complexion
  • Instant, cumulative and long-lasting results

Contraindications:

  • Electrical implant devices such as a pacemaker.

This is because the electrical devices use an electrical current that keeps the devices working. Since 7E MyoLift™ also uses an electrical current, it can interfere with the electrical signal of a pacemaker or cochlear ear implant.

  • Epilepsy; history of seizures.

Because Epilepsy can be caused by abnormal electricity flow in neurons and cells of our bodies, we do not want to risk the safety of the individual by increasing the electrical current in the body with the application of 7E MyoLift™ microcurrent stimulation.

“Epilepsy is a chronic disorder, the hallmark of which is recurrent, unprovoked seizures” (Joseph I. Sirven MD, Patty Obsorne Shafer RN, MN, 2014).”

“Identifiable causes of seizures are typically due to conditions that disrupt the normal flow of electricity in the brain” (MN Epilepsy Group).

  • Active Cancer

If you have been diagnosed with an active form of cancer, it is not recommended you receive a microcurrent treatment. This is because Cancer affects the cells of the body, and one of the primary benefits and processes of 7E MyoLift True Microcurrent technology is its ability to boost Adenosine Triphosphate (or ATP) energy within the skin cells. Even though we are working locally on the face with microcurrent facial treatments, it is always better to be safe rather than sorry and take the extra precaution with these conditions by not using microcurrent under this condition.

  • Pregnancy

It is best to hold off on 7E MyoLift™ microcurrent treatments while pregnant as a precautionary measure. This is regulation across the board with many of the modalities used in aesthetics as the body has heightened sensitivity during pregnancy. If you are eager to schedule your microcurrent facial after the pregnancy, it is safe to receive a microcurrent facial while you are breastfeeding.

  • Heart Conditions (recommended to consult with physician)

If you have a heart condition, microcurrent should only be performed after consultation and approval by your physician. This is an FDA requirement.

  • Diabetes (recommended to consult with physician)

Microcurrent should only be performed after consultation and approval by your physician. This is an FDA requirement.

  • Recent Facial Surgery

We recommend 7E MyoLift™ treatment prior to any invasive procedure like facial surgery - but it isn't recommended until healing from facial surgery is complete. This is best as to not disrupt the healing process of the surgery. Stay in touch with your doctor and make sure they clear you for a microcurrent treatment before scheduling this treatment post-op. At that point microcurrent facial treatments can be brought back into your skin care routine in tiny doses to avoid irritating the recently injured area of the skin.
